We recognise that creating and maintaining a safe environment is a shared responsibility. Under the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act, every person at our Centres has a duty to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and to ensure their actions do not adversely affect the safety of others.

This commitment is reflected in our Health & Safety First philosophy, which guides how work and activities are undertaken across all Retail First managed Centres. Our approach is supported by the Retail First Operations Risk Management Framework, which provides a structured process for identifying hazards, managing risks, and maintaining safe environments within our busy public spaces.

Health & Safety First is more than a policy – it is an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. Retail First values feedback and encourages everyone working in or visiting our Centres to actively contribute to a safer workplace.

We believe all incidents are preventable, and that safety is a shared responsibility.

All contractors, subcontractors, tradespeople, service providers and their employees must successfully complete the  Retail First Safety Induction before undertaking any work within a Retail First Centre, including work within common areas and tenancy spaces.
